I would recommend you to study machine learning and AI fundamentals.Deep learning.ai courses are good.You can also read standard books on ML and data science.There are some books on pratical implemnation of Ml algorithms on oreliy platform.I also feel having a good knowledge of software engineer along with data science will help you to outgrow as machine learning engineer.Given the era of large language models,productioning it for use case would require a solid infrastructure.I see there is lot of scope for building theplatofrm to support these large scale models.
